Has anyone watched this about the Australian former influencer Belle Gibson? Started off the whole wellness insta wave back in 2013. Crazy how so many things went unchecked in the wellness industry back then (and probably now). She came across very cold and calculating but I can kind of see how she managed to pull off the 'free spirit' vibe on the internet
 
I literally found out about this show earlier today and posted about it on another thread! I only managed to watch 15 minutes of it, so I need to catch up but having googled the story I am stunned at how much she got away with. Publishing a book, based on complete lies 🤯

I live in Oz and this was huge news when it all went down.
 
There’s a book on Belle Gibson called The Woman that fooled the world that is amazing. It goes in deep on her. The Tara brown interview is insane- she will not admit to anything, even down to her actual age. It’s insane.
 
I watched it and went into a huge rant to my hubby explaining the ‘con artists’ who claim to be ‘influencers’
I told him about swipe ups etc, how they work and how they use mental illness, anxiety etc to suck people in.!
belle gibson was an influencer and did exactly that. She controlled and manipulated people’s thoughts. She lied about having cancer for personal gain. How many of these influencers use mental illness etc to gain followers and likes? Loads.! It made me so angry, I look forward to the insta bubble bursting and these lot have to find normal jobs in the real world
