Australian Open 2023

The AO often feels like it has the worst traits of the Americans and Brits. I guess they have to have it late in the evening for the worldwide viewers, but all those people tanked up are really obnoxious.

Was tsitsipas really complaining about the white text on the screen ads?

it’s my least favourite slam for that reason. the crowd are always the absolute worst - i know no one’s perfect but, like you say, starting the matches so late helps no one.

i know i already said this but i wish djokovic was likeable 🤣 his tennis is something else, his backhand is an absolute work of art. it’s scary to think how many slams he still has left in him playing at this level when all his main competition is gone, besides a few potential upsets here and there.

Really anticlimactic on the men's side this year. Djokovic was admittedly excellent but none of his opponents even stood a chance, and most walked onto the court thinking they'll lose. Would've been fun to see Rune get past Rublev and try to challenge Djokovic a bit, seeing as Rune won a match against him recently and seems to have the belief that he can do it again.

Woman's finals was quality. Only problem is both Sabalenka and Rybakina are kind of dull as athletes so it didn't get much hype, but the match itself was pretty good.
