yep. knowing that he has a bit of a temper and that most of the “joke” was them damaging his property? he had to be in on it. his expression throughout was just “when is this going to be over?” rather than then the actual anger anyone would feel in that situation.

ant looked incredible but i’m still not over jesy nelson trending on twitter last night because of it 🤣
 
I don’t think Clarkson was in on it. I think he was just bemused that these people were protesting about the feelings of soil so he knew that was ridiculous and was just sceptical that they truly believed what they were talking about. He says he’s had protestors before so these guys seemed liked small fry compared to what he’s had before.

He was quite calm throughout until the ‘police’ told him he was under arrest and that was when he let rip as he knew it was preposterous he was going to be arrested as he hadn’t done anything. They obviously expected him to have a much more angrier response so the actor playing the police officer had stuck to his pre-prepared script of arresting him for breach of the peace when Jeremy had actually kept his cool. They obviously weren’t expecting that

After watching him on Top Gear and The Grand Tour over the years I can confirm he doesn't care ,he's a chancer 😂 ...Well now we know Little Mix don't have far to go to find her replacement ;)

i think i’m agreeing more with you on reading this! i read his expressions as being in on it and wanting the prank to be over, but it could equally be just being fed up with yet another protest and having faith that it would be sorted out.

the awkwardness of it definitely came from, like you say. that they didn’t get as big a reaction as they were expecting from him, so everything just fell a little bit flat.
