Albert Alfonso, 62, and Paul Longworth, 71, (assumed) murdered between 8 and 10 July in the London borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.

Their bodies were left in suitcases on Clifton Suspension Bridge, Bristol, by Yostin Andres Mosquera, 34, who is due to appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday 17th July.

Human remains were also found at the victims’ flat, which is also the alleged murderer’s address.

It sounds to me like the police don’t have a clue as to why, I suppose unless he speaks maybe we won’t ever know.
Yeah if he pleads guilty then he never has to disclose why he did it. I always remember the two men in Edinburgh who were murdered by father and son and they never revealed why so we will never know. There are always rumours but unless the person says then its all hearsay.

I see he had to speak thru and interpreter as well. Struck me as odd. But maybe the 2 victims were bilingual (I know one was French so I assume spoke English but maybe Spanish as well).
Or is he likely to be using that as an excuse not to talk?

If English isn’t the first language an interpreter is often used to ensure that there can be no accusation of not understanding further down the line.

Sara Sharif - the little girl who was found dead when her dad, step mum and uncle left the country - two of them used interpreters in court despite being supposedly English speaking (probably as a second language)

Ah right, i didn’t know that, thank you.

Due to the hate crime possibility, I suspect he may have been a live-in carer. Perhaps after meeting on holiday? Although I'm not exactly sure how you'd get a visa for a Colombian carer. I think the boss he was referring to may have been one or both of the deceased men.

More speculation and probably bollocks but I wonder if like you say carer and they sort of offered him to come and live with them for a better life in exchange for taking care of them, particularly the older guy who seemed to have more health issues from the photos, and maybe it turned into something he didn’t want - possibly even SA in some way and it went south and he killed them?

Or it could be a trafficking type situation where he didn't have control over his passport etc. I know that's what I'd be thinking if he were a woman.

Equally, he might 'just' have had a mental break and the hate crime aspect isn't there. I think the bridge obviously held significance to at least one of the men and it's possible that in a disordered state Mosquera might think launching them off in suitcases was an act *for* them rather than trying to dispose of evidence. Cos it really was a crazy thing to do.
