Activity Trackers (for kids and adults?)

My daughter has asked for a Fitbit or alike for her birthday which I'm fine with BUT I've been looking at the kids Fitbit and they are £60 and literally count steps and tell the time. I dont think she would understand calories or any of the more advanced bits but it seems a liberty to pay that for half the functions of a normal Fitbit. I would buy an adults one but the straps are so big on them it would just swing round her wrists. Can anyone reccomend any other or am I just being a tight arse not buying the Fitbit one?
 
I use fitbit, and it's not about the calories at all for me. I know some use it for that but everyone I know who has one, including those on weight loss journeys don't use the calorie feature.

Its about the step tracking (we as a species are getting more sedentary) which motivates me to move abit more, tracking my fitness sessions and how well it captures that. The ecosystem fitbit provides is a lot better than others I have used as in how it displays things . It also has menstrual tracking, which depending on how old she is may be really good.

I really enjoy the challenges you can do too, like walking distances of real life hikes. It's quite motivating.

I find they are pretty well made as well and very simple to use.

Shes only 9 so won't need any of those features just yet but sounds amazing. Are they simple to use I personally have never had any sort of fitness tracker for myself so want to keep it as simple as possible for her. But also need to try and get one that will fit her comfortably without coating me an arm and a leg as with kids it could just be another playground fad that will become uncool soon.
 
My niece has a garmin, I think they brought it in Argos for around £50. It’s a children’s one, tracks steps and sleep. They have elastic straps so fit quite easily around the wrist.
 
They sell cheapo copies on Amazon etc for about £20-£25 if thats helpful? Search smart tracker watches or similar and ones will come up.
 
My friends daughter begged for one for her 9th birthday. Said Birthday was less than a month ago and she’s already given up on it. I said she would and the daughter insisted she wouldn’t. Luckily my friend only paid £10 for it off Ali express or similar.
 
That's for the tips guys ideally I wanted to spend less than around the £30 mark as I have a feeling it will be a playground fad that will soon be put into a draw and never see the light of day again! I shall have a look on Amazon.
 
I have a cheap ‘fitbit’ from eBay or amazon it was £10 and does the same stuff my mums Fitbit does (except heart rate!) not had a problem with it x
